Saxmundham Neighbourhood Plan

Tomorrow (Tuesday) 4 – 7.30 p.m. Market Hall Drop-in Session – District Council officers to explain new Local Plan proposals

Monday, July 30th, 2018 2:00 pm

There’s a drop-in session at the Market Hall tomorrow from 4 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. It’s organised by Suffolk Coastal District Council to inform all interested about their new draft Local Plan which proposes 1000 new dwellings in Saxmundham – mainly in a new “South Saxmundham Garden Neighbourhood”, with new primary school site and other infrastructure. But leaving lots of things still unanswered…

This is a good chance to ask questions, give your views.

Here’s their leaflet http://www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/…/First-Draft-Plan-Drop-in-Po…

The Saxmundham Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group have written to the planning officers at Suffolk Coastal expressing serious concern over the timing of the Local Plan consultation, entirely over the summer holiday period, when their proposals would (if implemented) have such a major impact on the town.  The letter also request a lot of other information to enable a proper response to be made to the consultation on key issues like the amount and location of housing.
